Terms of Service
Last updated August 5, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PreceptMe website, platform, portal, forms, services, communications, and related tools. By accessing the website, creating an account, submitting information, applying as a preceptor, submitting a placement request, making a payment, or using any PreceptMe service, you agree to these Terms and any additional policies or agreements presented to you, including the Privacy Policy, Placement Policy, Refund / Rematch Policy, Student Services Agreement, Preceptor Participation Agreement, and any applicable checkout or portal acknowledgments. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the website, platform, or services.
1. PreceptMe role
PreceptMe provides preceptor matching, placement coordination, and school-ready preceptor/site documentation support. PreceptMe may coordinate School-Specific Preceptor Matching, collect preceptor and site information, prepare School-Ready Preceptor/Site Packets, support affiliation workflow when applicable, track school approval evidence, manage payment milestones, and support readiness confirmation before rotation start.
PreceptMe is not a nursing school, clinical site, healthcare provider, credentialing agency, accreditation authority, state board, or regulatory approval authority. PreceptMe does not guarantee school approval, site approval, state board approval, start date approval, regulatory outcomes, or completion of clinical hours.
2. Eligibility
You may use PreceptMe services only if you are legally able to enter into binding agreements and provide accurate, complete, and current information. Students must be enrolled or eligible for enrollment in an NP program or another eligible APP program accepted by PreceptMe and must provide accurate school, course, licensure, and placement information. Preceptors must provide accurate professional, credential, license, site, and availability information and are subject to credential review and license verification.
3. Account registration
You may need to create an account to access certain services. You agree to:
- Provide accurate account information.
- Keep your login credentials confidential.
- Notify PreceptMe promptly of unauthorized account access.
- Use the account only for lawful and authorized purposes.
- Update your information when it changes.
You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account.
4. User responsibilities
You agree not to:
- Submit false, misleading, incomplete, or outdated information.
- Misrepresent your school requirements, licensure, eligibility, availability, or credentials.
- Upload or submit health-compliance records through public contact forms at launch.
- Attempt to bypass PreceptMe's matching, payment, or communication workflow.
- Pay or solicit direct payment outside the PreceptMe platform.
- Interfere with the platform or attempt unauthorized access.
- Use PreceptMe services for unlawful, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
- Copy, scrape, resell, or misuse PreceptMe content, workflows, forms, templates, or confidential information.
5. Student responsibilities
Students are responsible for:
- Providing accurate school, program, course, required hour, specialty, date, and region information.
- Submitting written school preceptor/site requirements before matching.
- Maintaining current RN licensure and student eligibility when required.
- Submitting health-compliance records directly to their school and/or clinical site.
- Submitting the PreceptMe-generated preceptor/site packet to their school clinical coordinator unless PreceptMe confirms a different approved workflow.
- Completing school and site onboarding requirements.
- Submitting school requirements and approval evidence in the PreceptMe portal.
- Completing required payment milestones.
- Not beginning clinical hours until school/site approval, applicable site onboarding, final payment, and PreceptMe readiness confirmation are complete.
6. Preceptor responsibilities
Preceptors are responsible for:
- Providing accurate credential, license, site, availability, and professional information.
- Maintaining active licensure and required certifications when applicable.
- Supervising students within the approved rotation scope and school requirements.
- Completing school paperwork and evaluations when required.
- Communicating with faculty or school representatives when required.
- Protecting patient, student, site, school, and PreceptMe confidential information.
- Notifying PreceptMe promptly if credentials, site arrangements, availability, or eligibility changes.
7. School-Specific Preceptor Matching
PreceptMe uses a confidential, gated matching process rather than public browsing. Preceptor names, clinic names, exact addresses, and direct contact information are not publicly displayed. They are released only at the appropriate gated step. School-Specific Preceptor Matching does not guarantee school approval, site approval, state board approval, start date approval, regulatory outcomes, or completion of clinical hours.
8. Payments
PreceptMe uses a three-stage payment schedule:
- Payment 1, Activation Deposit: a $250 activation deposit, required for applications submitted within sixty (60) days of the requested clinical rotation start date, plus a $400 expedited processing fee for applications submitted within thirty (30) days of the requested start date. These amounts become due only after PreceptMe receives the placement request and confirms, in principle, that a preceptor is available who reasonably meets the student's submitted school, specialty, geographic, and credential requirements.
- Payment 2, Placement Confirmation: fifty percent (50%) of the remaining placement balance, after application of the activation deposit credit, due once the preceptor has formally accepted the placement request.
- Payment 3, Final Payment: the remaining fifty percent (50%) of the placement balance, due after PreceptMe has reviewed the student's school approval documentation and the student has completed at least fifty percent (50%) of the required clinical hours.
The $250 activation deposit is credited toward the total placement fee and is not an additional charge beyond the quoted placement cost. Once PreceptMe confirms availability in principle and placement activities begin, the activation deposit is generally non-refundable, except as required by PreceptMe's published Refund / Rematch Policy or applicable law. No payment plans or installment options are offered at launch. All payments, refunds, credits, disputes, and cancellation requests are subject to PreceptMe's published policies and any checkout terms presented at the time of payment.
9. Pricing estimates
The PreceptMe calculator provides an estimate for planning purposes. Estimated placement amount = required clinical hours x hourly rate + Expedited Fee, if applicable. Estimated remaining balance after Activation Deposit = estimated placement amount minus Activation Deposit credit. Final payment milestones, no payment plans or installment options, refund review, rematch support, school approval evidence, and readiness confirmation remain subject to PreceptMe published policies and workflow requirements.
10. Expedited Fee
An expedited processing fee may apply when your requested start date, school paperwork deadline, or placement timeline requires accelerated support. At launch, the expedited processing fee is $400 for applications submitted thirty (30) calendar days or fewer before the requested clinical rotation start date. It is a flat, one-time add-on disclosed as a separate checkout line item and becomes non-refundable once expedited processing begins. The fee supports prioritized review and placement coordination when feasible. It does not guarantee preceptor availability, school approval, site approval, state board approval, start date approval, regulatory outcomes, or completion of clinical hours.
11. School approval
School approval is required for each student and rotation. PreceptMe prepares and coordinates preceptor/site documentation support, but your school retains final academic approval authority. PreceptMe does not guarantee school approval, site approval, state board approval, start date approval, regulatory outcomes, or completion of clinical hours.
12. Readiness confirmation
No clinical hours may begin until school/site approval, applicable site onboarding, receipt of payment 2, and PreceptMe readiness confirmation are complete. Readiness confirmation may include school approval evidence reviewed, site onboarding where applicable, required agreement or written confirmation where applicable, receipt of payment 2, PreceptMe administrative confirmation, and confirmation of the clinical rotation start date.
13. Health-compliance records
Under the standard PreceptMe workflow, students submit health-compliance records directly to their school and/or clinical site. PreceptMe will not collect, store, verify, or act as a repository for raw student health-compliance records at launch. Public contact forms are not intended for immunization records, background checks, drug screens, TB results, BLS cards, or similar health-compliance records.
14. School communication
Completion of the FERPA Authorization and School Communication Consent is required to initiate your placement request. Without this authorization, PreceptMe cannot coordinate with your school's clinical placement or administrative team on your behalf. PreceptMe does not guarantee that any school will communicate with PreceptMe or approve a proposed preceptor/site.
15. California and state-specific review
Some placements may require additional state-specific review before placement can proceed. California placements requested by students in non-California NP programs, or located in Central, Northern, or rural California, require review before payment and matching can begin. PreceptMe does not determine or guarantee BRN, school, site, or regulatory approval. PreceptMe may pause a placement request until required review is complete.
16. Third-party services and costs
Students may be responsible for third-party costs charged by schools, clinical sites, hospitals, onboarding vendors, EMR vendors, badge offices, background-check vendors, drug-screen vendors, health-screening vendors, or other external organizations. PreceptMe is not responsible for third-party fees unless specifically stated in writing.
17. Intellectual property
The PreceptMe website, content, brand, documents, workflows, templates, designs, copy, processes, and platform materials are owned by PreceptMe or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, sell, or create derivative works from PreceptMe materials without written permission.
18. Confidentiality
You agree to protect confidential information received through PreceptMe, including preceptor information, student information, site information, school-related information, pricing information, portal information, and non-public workflow details.
19. No professional advice
PreceptMe does not provide legal, academic, licensure, regulatory, tax, employment, healthcare, or immigration advice. You are responsible for confirming requirements with your school, clinical site, licensing board, PreceptMe leadership, or other appropriate advisors.
20. Service availability
PreceptMe may modify, suspend, or discontinue website, portal, or service access at any time. PreceptMe does not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or continuous availability of the platform.
21. Termination
PreceptMe may suspend or terminate access if a user violates these Terms, provides inaccurate information, bypasses the platform, fails to complete payment milestones, misuses confidential information, behaves unprofessionally, or creates legal, operational, school, site, or safety concerns.
22. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PreceptMe is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or lost-opportunity damages arising from use of PreceptMe services. PreceptMe is not responsible for school decisions, site decisions, state board decisions, regulatory outcomes, third-party delays, health-compliance failures, student ineligibility, preceptor changes, or completion of clinical hours.
23. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless PreceptMe from claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, inaccurate information, misuse of the platform, violation of law, direct payment outside the platform, or failure to comply with school/site requirements.
24. Changes to Terms
PreceptMe may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted with an updated effective date. Continued use of PreceptMe services after updates means you accept the updated Terms.
25. Governing law and venue
These Terms and any dispute arising out of or relating to PreceptMe services shall be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any legal action, suit, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and each user consents to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts.
