What does PreceptMe do?
We match NP and PA students with vetted preceptors for required clinical hours, with matching led by board-certified physicians rather than coordinators. We also manage the paperwork around the rotation: FERPA consent, school-ready site packets, approval evidence, and milestone payments.
How does matching work?
We review your school's requirements together with your track, specialty, hours, dates, and location before matching begins, and we only propose preceptors who fit them. Your school keeps final approval authority over every placement.
Is the preceptorship one-on-one?
Yes. Every PreceptMe placement is a 1:1 preceptorship: one preceptor dedicated to one student for the whole rotation, so your hours are supervised, taught, and signed by the same clinician.
How are preceptors vetted?
Every preceptor's license, board certification, and exclusion screening are reviewed before any match is offered, and matching is overseen by board-certified physicians. Your school's site and preceptor requirements are checked against the match before it reaches you.
Where is PreceptMe available?
We place students across the United States. Availability depends on your specialty, rotation dates, and location; the earlier you submit your request, the more options we can line up.
How much does a placement cost?
Placements are priced per clinical hour by specialty. Build your placement request in the portal and you see your exact quote before anything is due; the $250 activation deposit only becomes due when you submit.
When do I pay?
In three milestones tied to real progress: a $250 activation deposit when you submit your request (credited toward your total), 50% of the remaining balance when your preceptor formally accepts, and the remaining balance after school approval review and the halfway point of your clinical hours. An optional $400 expedited processing add-on is available for prioritized coordination, collected with Payment 1. Bank transfer (ACH) is free; cards carry a disclosed 3% fee. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
What documents will I need?
Three documents get you started: your CV, a government-issued photo ID, and proof of enrollment. Your school packet (FERPA authorization, which we provide as a fillable form, your school's clinical requirement form, and your current RN license) is requested once matching begins. Once your school reviews the placement, your clinical requirements such as BLS and HIPAA training open, along with a place for your school's approval letter. Your portal shows the exact checklist and tracks every document's status.
When can my clinical hours begin?
Your rotation can begin once your preceptor formally accepts, Payment 2 is received, and PreceptMe confirms readiness. The final payment is not due until after school approval review and the halfway point of your clinical hours.
What if my placement falls through?
Rematching is our first remedy: if a rotation cannot proceed, we work to place you with another preceptor who fits your requirements. Refunds follow the published milestone rules in our Refund / Rematch Policy.
How is my information protected?
Your documents are stored encrypted with access limited to the operations team, and our analytics never see your name or email. FERPA consent governs what we share with your school. The details live in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service.
